Watches with a chronograph are not all the same and can be distinguished by some specific characteristics. In particular, some have a function called Flyback. But what does this mean?
The term Flyback was born in the 1930s in the aviation field, for pilots who had to stop a survey and start another one immediately afterwards to follow their flight plan. This function in fact allows you to pass from one chronograph measurement to the next by pressing a single button.
How does the Flyback work?
Once the chronograph is started, while the hand is running, by pressing the reset button, the hand immediately returns to zero. Then, releasing the button, the hand restarts from zero to carry out the next reading.
Instead in the classic chronograph, after the first reading, in order to reset the chronograph, it is necessary first stop the chronograph, and only afterwards it is possible to reset and start another reading.
Nowadays, in addition to pure and simple use, having a chronograph timepiece with a Flyback function is still a source of pride for the lovers.
